Problem
git push to GitHub repeatedly fails and Claude Code in VS Code keeps disconnecting, with no config change.
Applies when
macOS Tahoe (26.x), long uptime (reported case: 112 days).
Confirm it is this problem
Several unrelated network tools fail at once and uptime is >=49 days.
Not this when / boundary
Uptime is short, or only one app fails (check proxy env, DNS, VPN first).
Root cause
Reported macOS bug (one user's report, not confirmed by Apple or by us): network connections degrade once uptime passes ~49 days.
Fix
uptime→ expect: more than ~49 days.- Reboot → expect: pushes and agent connections work again.
