Problem
After upgrading to Ollama 0.30.0 through Homebrew, MLX models work but every GGUF model fails with this error.
Error (redacted / normalized)
Error: 500 Internal Server Error: error starting llama-server: llama-server binary not found
Not this when / boundary
You installed from ollama.com. Arch Linux packages had the same symptom; one user went back to 0.24.0 until the package was rebuilt.
Root cause
The package build didn't include the new llama-server binary (maintainer: "the package build needs to be updated").
Fix
brew update && brew upgrade ollamato 0.30.7_1 or newer, then restart the service. Users confirmed both GGUF and MLX work again.
How to verify
ollama run <gguf-model> loads.
